Im surprised this place was so busy. I thought the food was bland and over cooked. The calamari was chewy and the sauce they give you to dip it in was awful, and unfortunately my husband and i were seated at a very small table right near the stairs and it faced nothing. I cant understand how it was so busy its not that great, the food isnt horrible but I wouldnt go back.
The wings were missing the carrots and celery. The roasted chicken was raw in the center. It took 40 minutes to get our food. We were told that the beer taps were not working when we were in the bar. We were told by the bar tender that we should order bottled beer. When we were seated at our table, the beer taps were working fine. Apparently, the bar was so busy that they didn't have time to pour beer from the taps, it was easier to open beer bottles. They should have told us the truth.
Great bar. Many, many TV's for all around great sports action. Great waitresses. Bar staff not very nice in contrast. Best food in any bar in Toronto IMO. Karaoke on wed and thurs, fun stuff. CHECK IT OUT for sure.
A bud and I went to check out hoops for the second time as our first visit was alright, although the first time we didn't sit at the bar as we didn't have to deal with the bartender or the manager. I had a gift certificate for hoops for 1 pound of wings that I won from there a week before. I went to go and redeem it and even though I got it from there, the manager (lady with short hair) accused me of it being fake. I told them that I won it from there and that I wouldn't bother trying to scam them for 1 pound of wings. So after a bit they honored my certificate and my buddy ordered a bud and i ordered a rickards. The wings took around 30 minutes and the beer that my friend and I ordered on draft was about 1/3 head. Finally the wings came and let me tell you that they were probably the worst wings that I have ever had. Honestly, I have had wings that have came frozen from the grocery store that have tasted better, and these are bar wings we're talking about. As I mentioned before, we never sat at the bar before there, so the bartender a guy in his late 30's then starts giving me the old..."well, she never authorized the gift certificate you know? That was a copied gift certificate". Basically, the guy starts whining to me about it and it starts to get really annoying so from my analysis the guy is a loser. Anyhow, I would definitly not reccomend going to Hoops as they are desperate to make money and obviously make fusses about 1 pound of wings.
Love coming here over and over again. Came here with a friend and we always get wings and i enjoyed them alot. They may not have all the flavors in the world but it was great. Plus I enjoyed there nacho's alot. Other sports bar's i go to I tell them not to put there beans and ground beef but of course they dont listen and I end up asking them to take it back or i just pay for my drink and walk out. At hoops they have I think a few different ways of having your nacho's. I just have them without the beans and ground beer. But check this place out next time your in Toronto as I was.
Bar staff were very helpful and courteous. Good music. Dozens of televisions.2 movie theater size screens. I enjoyed playing free NTN In all, a great evening out experience.
I go there often. Usualyy order wings and natchos along with a creamore springs. The food is amazing. The wings are excellent and the nachos are to die for. Defiantly recomend you try it out as long as you don't mind spoty service
