A great place to enjoy a great meal. I really enjoying dining here, as David clearly makes every effort to make his patrons happy. The food itself is somewhat inconsistent. I have had outstanding meals, and average meals. However the service and intimate atmosphere really make this a winner. Plus, I'm a picky eater;)
This is one of the few fine dining restaurants in London. I started with the shrimp bisque, intense shrimp flavor perfectly seasoned and a very large serving to boot. My spinach salad had crispy procuitto(a nice touch) with shaved parmesean. The spinach was fresh, but the dressing was oily and tastless, not to mention the fact that it was over dressed. I had the charcroute, a nice blend of smokey pork, sauerkraut, potaotes and sausage. At $28 a la carte this was steep, especially when they only gave you 1 sausage? I finished with the Sacher Torte which was nothing like the original (I have had it at the Sacher hotel) being dry and not tating of apricot jam. The torte did come with an excellent dense chocolate ice cream. My wife had the special lobster, it came with a great vaiety of fresh properly cooked vegetables. Overall a great place with great service and a cut above most in London.
The service, food and atmosphere were exceptional. I would recommend trying the "trust me" meal and wine pairings as I've always had a positive experience.
The service was excellent and the food incredible. Everything was cooked perfectly and the presentation was also impressive. In my 4 years in London this is by far the best dining experience I've had. I had the warm salad with seared buffalo and quail egg, then a marlin steak with mango salsa and basmatti rice. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a sophisticated meal at a reasonable price.
Must have gone on a bad night a few times over... They did not show any hospitable attitude. The waiter was more like a butler from some horror film and they were anything but personable. Seems they are out to get as many people through the restaurant in as little time as possible. If you want fast food for a hight price - go for it... but if you want good service and kindness along the way - go somewhere else.
