I always do takeout when I order from Cornerstone...
I always do takeout when I order from Cornerstone because the food is good but the service is deathly slow. This is because the staff is small, everything is made from scratch, and the place is packed while school is in session, so reviewers should take this into consideration. The vegetarian fare is tasty--we love the black bean burger in particular and the pizza is good. Sadly, you can't order pizza for takeout though and it took 40 minutes of starving for it to be made from scratch last time we had it. My recommendation: call ahead and order takeout whenever possible, do some shopping and pick it up, or go during off-hours, like 2PM or when the university students aren't around, like mid-December.
I went for a quick coffee, the cup was filthy, the couches dirty and torn, and the server rude. I've heard the food is tasty, but the coffee wasn't great. I won't return because it is not my style to lounge on filty furniture.
Even though the service is bad I used to go here...
Even though the service is bad I used to go here because the food was worth it. Now I don't even think the food is worth it. I don't like servers that hover but these servers don't even acknowledge that you're in the restaurant. The last time I was there we all ordered coffee and asked about the kinds of muffins they had. The server took 15 minutes to bring us the coffee, forgot to find out the kinds of muffins she had and then never came back. We sat there for over an hour and she just ignored us. Eventually we went up to the counter and asked for more coffee and a muffin. The food is definitely not worth the service. Unless you have dreads or clearly look the type of person they want to serve there is no point in going there. I'm really not sure why the owner doesn't do something about the service because I know a lot of people that don't go anymore because of this problem.
