Went to Canyon Creek for the last time about 2 years ago. The service and food was so terrible I asked to speak to the manager. After I spoke to him he felt so bad he didn't charge us for any of our meal. They even brought us a free dessert and sparkling wine. A nice gesture, but we learned our lesson. Now we go to the Keg, which is always excellent. (The Waterdown location is beautiful!)
First time visting their location in Burlington. Ordered the New York Steak with Rice -Well Done. Steak isn't the best quality. Rice wasn't bad. No Veggies thats extra. The Keg & Milestones is better. Small Portions. Waste of $ Money. Servers are always trying to up sell you. Master Steaks on Dixie have a better Quality Steak for a better Price. will not go back. To Pricey. Not alot of selection on the Menu!
First impression was some kind of a bad smell. Not something you want to find at a restaurant. Second impression was a totally phony and patronizing waitress (which drives me nuts) asking"Are we ready to order drinks"? "Have we ever been here before"?, "Are we ready to order"? "Are we thinking about dessert?". No WE aren't. Drives me crazy. The food was pretty mediocre, the place just had a bad vibe going, and the price was way too much for what it was.
This place is supposed to be famous for it's ribs and steaks but it failed miserably on both accounts. I was there last wk and got the chipotle steak which was tough and overcooked (medium rare is NOT pink in the middle) and the ribs were the worst ribs i have ever had, they were tough, very little meat and burnt. The ceaser salad was incredibly mediocre as was the fruit crisp for dessert. So basically everything we ordered was pretty well garbage. Will never go back here again and i strongly warm others to not go unless you want to throw your money away.
I have been there 3 times and all 3 times were a major disappointment. And management did nothing to rectify my concerns -- so I will be taking the business of myself and friends elsewhere from now on! 1) Service for our group was ridiculously slow, and I asked to take my steak home (ordered the steak and king crab legs) and the server took it away and did not bring it back to me. Others in my party also complained that their meals were not cooked appropriately. 2) Did not provide my Caesar salad until AFTER I finished eating my entree. 3) Made a reservation for 7pm, and had to wait 30 minutes for a table in the crowded bar with standing room only, with NO apology whatsoever.
We've always wanted to try this place out, so we finally did! We reserved a table for two online for 630, but we didn't end up getting there until just before 7. The maitre'd read our special instructions that was sent with our online reservation and seated us in a quiet corner at a bigger booth for just the two of us. Not that the place was loud or overly busy, but it was great that we were seated farther away from the rest of the crowds that were there and we were not forgotten about! Since it was our first time there, our server showed us the menu and gave her suggestions. Some sounded tempting but we decided to go with our own choices. We both got steaks and got the Caesar salads to start. We also got bread with sweet butter and stuffed mushrooms. We started off with Caesar salad and bread served. Then our stuffed mushrooms. Then came our steaks. One done medium the other done medium well. They were both beautifully cooked and we both enjoyed our loaded potatoes as well! Since we were there to celebrate, our server took care of us with a rich dessert - double chocolate brownie! We enjoyed every part of our meal! The bread was a 7 grain bread, crisp on the outside, warm and light on the inside! The Caesar salad had a very nice garlic taste with a tiny kick. The steaks melted in your mouth and was easy to devour. The loaded potato (minus the chives) was nice and fluffy with lots of sour cream, cheese and bacon! And the dessert was an excellent addition! We both got drinks from the bar as well throughout our meal - they were mixed decently, but felt it was a little too light on the alcohol. All in all, our server was great, and never forgot about us, the maitre'd was excellent for our request. And we had a great first experience here. We'll definitely go again! Might I even say that its better than their competition? I believe so, but we'll have to see if they are just as great the second time around ;)
We were there last night - this place used to be one of my favourite places to eat....until last night. I found the sirloin to be unbareably tough, luckily it was covered with goat cheese chipolte to cover the toughness. Chop house salad was excellent, rice pilaf had no flavour AT ALL! We had masi wine - you can never go wrong with that as a choice..... Dessert was the brownie (w icecream) Would have been excellent but the brownie was too thick . I really enjoy the niagara fallsview location, but the burlington one seems to be going downhill...no wonder it wasn't busy~
We had dinner there on a Sunday night and it was rather busy, unfortunately the service was pretty slow. The server was very friendly and made up for the back-up. The food is good, but won't blow you away. I had prime rib, which I found to be very fatty. My son had the burger from the kid's menu, and it was huge -- and their fries are really tasty. Overall the atmosphere is great, service great, food just so-so.
