My sisters and our boyfriends decided to go to Wabora for my 27th birthday on June 18th. We drove 45min to get to Bracebridge. When we got there, we were told we had to wait for our table... a half hour later we got seated at our hibatchi table. After being seated, we were approached by a waitress who advised us the party before us was a half hourlate and ruined the order of the cooks. As a result we could either watch another table's hibatchi show from behind the cook or we could order from the menu as a large party was coming in at 7:30 and they needed our table. On top of being punished for being on time, the manager would not even talk to us or offer us any compensation. Also when we asked for contact infomation for the owner they provided us with a fax #... REAL NICE... This is the worse service I have ever recieved. I would not recommend going there. They treated us like we were trash and our money was no good. I will never go there again. I'm not sure how a business can get ahead when they have such a huge jerk running the show.
Very unique experience, one of a kind in Muskoka. Food is great, lots to choose from, rolls are fantastic! The Tepanyaki tables are a must!
Read reviews, and went. Large clattery room, very noisy, techno type music. Friend dined on Tuna in various guises, and was very pleased. I less so: soft shell crab in a "spicy" sauce-- way too hot, left my mouth burning, lost flavour of crab. Tempura veggies-- very average, Unagi with rice. This usually comes with plain rice, here it came with very mushy sushi style rice-- whole thing altogether too sweet., and texture not great. And I like sweet with savoury. Also didn't need the bits and pieces of fake crab, daikon, orange pickly things, etc accompanying. As is usual in Japanese restaurants, the service was far too fast, and dishes were delivered as they made them, so one was eating, the other waiting a goodly amount of the time. Friend would go again , I wouldn't bother.
Wow!!! Initially we wanted be seated at and experience the Hibachi but were unaware that reservations were needed in the summertime, so we had to eat in the dining room. But I was not disappointed in the least. This was my first experience with Japanese cuisine and in particular sushi. Our server fully explained how the menu worked and answered all of out questions fully. Our menu selection was the Medium Sushi Boat which is basically the chef's pick of various sushi and rolls. The presentation was fabulous and very appetizing. The food of course, was amazing. I particularily liked the more spicy selections the chef made. For desert we had the Bannana Tempura Green Tea Ice Cream. One word - Delicious!!! The whole experience at Wabora was in itself entertaining. I will rave about it with friends and will come back for sure. Next time for the Hibachi experience.
This is definitly the best place to eat in town and one of the best sushi experiences I have ever had. there is not a miss on the menu.
