Caribou restaurant is our restaurant of choice. Whether it is just a small group of us or a large group in for a party Caribou is the place to be. Personally I manage a local hotel and we send our guests there time after time. The food is excellent and consistant whether it is just their gourmet pizza's or full dinner entre's. Desserts are to die for especially the creme framboise. The service is always personable and efficient. Their wine list is the best in town and they have won many awards. I can't see how anyone who visits this jewel, hidden in the corner of the plaza, would find any fault at all. I stumbled upon Dennis' little oasis about 5 years ago and it has become a weekly ritual. Jerk chicken is to die for. Ox tail is the best I have ever had for sure and the rice and peas stand up to any carribean resaurant in the GTA for sure. I have moved to Calgary and put my family as 1A and the Jerk Pit as 1B as things I miss the most. No Caribbean restaurant out here even compares. Read more

I'll try to keep this short and sweet (like my wife ha) but we will definitely, 100% be returning to this place. We were in recently and the staff were so nice. We made a day of it and took it all to the lake and it was so nice to be able to enjoy such nice foods. I'd just butcher the pronounciations and whatnot, but suffice to say, you should order a lot of the extras that they have, in addition to the roti, which itself is amazing. The goat was soft and tender, but gamey too. If you're not a real meat-enthusiast, you may wanna steer clear of goat and get something more pallette friendly, like chiken or the chickpea roti. The doubles, oh the doubles! A double, from the best I can tell, is like this little chickpea-dough crepe, that is filled with refried beans and then the whole shebang is deep fried. Yeah, it's pretty much heaven. It comes with this hot sauce that really cuts to your core, so be careful. You'll sweat, but as us chiliheads admit, that's what you want. There's also pholourie, which is like a timbit, but made of a lightly-spiced chickpea dough, and it's a really nice, chewie snack that is just amazing. Well, as you can tell, I'm getting hungry writing this, so I should probably stop. Regardless of that, you should definitely check this place out. We've had excellent experiences with the food both times we have had it. Once was take-out and last night we dined in! This type of food is relatively new to me, but it's definitely something that my wife and I have enjoyed discovering! The service was a bit on the slow side but then again, we were surprised with how busy the place was on a Sunday night! That must say something about how good the food is! Once we got our food, we enjoyed it thoroughly. The inside was much nicer than I expected looking from the outside and the portions were large enough that my wife and I both had leftovers for lunch!
