Best Restaurants for BLTs in Toronto

April is National BLT month. What better way to celebrate than share my top five choices in the city!

Good Bite Restaurant

1
2463 Yonge St, Toronto, ON M4P 2H6

Around since 1970, this place has seen it all (fashion styles have come and gone and then come back again!). And they still manage to put out great diner food at reasonable prices after all this time. Their bacon and tomato sandwich ($5.50) doesn’t list the lettuce (too fancy), but it comes with. Choose from brown or white toast. That’s it. Done. Moving on.

Starter & Main

2
913 Queen St E, Main, Toronto, ON M4M 1J4

What appears at first glance to be a gas station, is actually one of the best little eateries in the city for Southern comfort food to go. Their BLT (at an astonishingly low $5.30), features maple glazed smoked peameal (or “Canadian” if you wish) bacon, with lettuce, tomato and homemade mayo, nestled in a toasted egg bun.

Morton's The Steakhouse

3
4 Avenue Road, Toronto, ON M5R 2E8

Is it cheating because these are this trio of slider BLTs ($8) comes adorned with crabcakes? No way. Not at this price. Not at this fab location, the bar in Morton’s in Yorkville, of all places. And the best part? If you’ve still got room, there’s a whole steak menu awaiting you…

Caplansky's Deli & Catering

4
356 College St, Toronto, ON M5T 1S6

For those of you who don’t eat pork, don’t fret – Zane Caplansky, owner of Caplansky’s has got you covered. Every Tuesday, he offers the BBLT ($9) – beef bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on toasted challah. And should you wish for it on another day of the week, simply ask, and they will provide. Mazel tov!

Sitting on the dock of the bay, or a patio downtown, or in the cool comfort of an air conditioned restaurant, nothing says summertime like fish and chips. Here are the city’s top 5 spots:
We are so fortunate in Toronto that we don’t have to wait for TIFF to arrive to get a sneak peek of Hollywood elite, supermodels and their ilk. If you want to star-gaze and get up close to celebs, head to these top 5 eateries in the city for VIPs and superstars.
One of the best ways to spend a summer evening is to catch a show. Whether you’re going out to a big theatre production such as Newsies or Kinky Boots, or you’re heading off to hear a performance by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Canadian Opera Company or Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra & Chamber Choir, you’re going to want to eat beforehand.
