La Place Simon-Valois is located in the heart of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. With its many shops and inviting layout, it is not surprising that the residents of the district have adopted it. This was certainly the case for Dominique Charest, a lawyer by profession, who, in 2009, was seduced by the unique atmosphere of La Place Simon-Valois and went from practising law to becoming the owner of the William J. Walter Hochelaga store. A saucissier, or sausage maker, WJW is a unique store designed in the image of its owner: warm and welcoming.
Specializing in sausages and sauerkraut in the Germanic tradition, this popular franchise also offers a wide selection of products from the most classic to the most extravagant. Purists may prefer the more traditional sausages, while the more adventurous may delight in original recipes that combine sweet, spicy and bitter with a variety of meats. According to Dominique, the William Swiss is a must to try: a delicious smoked sausage made with pork, veal and beef stuffed with real Swiss Emmentaler cheese. By far the shop's best seller!
