This may seem strange to rate our experience as a 4 when the food was good, not fantastic but good and the server was polite, friendly and professional. But the problem was the manager. The music was just awful and way to loud for this setting on a quiet Sunday lunch. When we spoke with her she was arrogant and rude. Chez Piggy use to be a wonderful restaurant but with its new management, with its new "attitude", and given the choice we do have in Kingston of very excellent restaurants, I am seriously wondering whether we will bother with Chez Piggy in the future.

We just love this place and travel by boat five hours each way from Rochester a couple of times a year to Kingston and always make reservations at Chez Piggy from the States. The first time we ate their we stumbled across it while walking our Golden Retriever and the fact that they welcomed the dog (outside dining) endeared them to us. We have been back ever since. The place is charming, the food is good and the service was just fine. Snobs and gourmets may find fault but we just find it a fun place to eat with great atmosphere. We would not visit Kingston without having dinner there. When the plac gets very busy service can take longer but what else is new!

Last time at chez piggy I ordered a light dinner at the bar, the bar tender was very friendly and chatty, and my meal came in a flash. I ordered gambas, which are pan fried shrimp with garlic and chilis, frits, and a coke. The meal came in a little over 5 minutes, and cost me under 20$!
And-Every other time I have eaten there (with my family) the service has been prompt, couterous, and most importantly the food has always been great. in fact i have probablt been there over 10 times, and i have yet to be dissapointed. Go there, Go there now.
This eclectic mix of asian and french country style food excites the senses. I enjoyed the muscovy duck confit which melted in my mouth with its soft texture and elegant flavour.
