Patrick Henry's path to his successful business venture was, for the most part, serendipitous. On a day trip to historic Fairhaven Village, Bellingham Washington, Patrick walked into Drizzle Olive Oil and Vinegar Tasting Room and was hooked; it gave him the inspiration to open Tasters Olive Oil and Vinegars in December 2012.
A veteran of sorts to the foodie scene, Patrick taught his son to cook when he was just five; he's now a chef and owns two restaurants in Edmonton. "I've always been around food and I have always loved to cook," says Patrick. "It's rewarding to pass that on to my son."
Patrick soon discovered Tasters Olive Oil and Vinegars was a novelty in the Tri-Cities and has solidified a niche market for a community who are gastronomically inclined. "We are a one-of-a-kind shop in the Tri-Cites and my demographic stretches to Maple Ridge," he says. "I found that a lot of people were driving over the border for product like mine; when customers discover I'm located in Coquitlam, they're thrilled."
