The Paint Spot is Edmonton's best Arts Supply Store. In addition to a huge selection of arts supplies for beginners to professionals, we also offer a gallery and art classes. In business since 1985, we are an artist-run visual art centre dedicated to enabling artists, to realize their artistic vision. We strive to maintain our reputation for innovation, for giving the best service, and for fostering the creative community by offering great products, sharing our know-how, and providing a showcase for your art. Our well-stocked store features art materials and products ranging from student to professional quality. We offer paper and canvas, paint and ink, brushes and pens, easels and portfolios, and much more. (And if we don’t have what you need in stock, we’ll try to get it for you.)

We are working artists, and are pleased to share our excitement and our accumulated knowledge about the art materials we offer. Bring your questions to us, or consult our Advice Library. And please, share your findings and enthusiasms, too. We are always learning, and we’re always interested in products and techniques that are new to us. The Paint Spot has a special commitment to art teachers. School discounts are generous, large school orders are promptly filled. Meet the owner

The Paint Spot will turn 30 in 2015, and owner Kim Fjordbotten can't wait to continue the business for another 30 years. Her store is filled with staff who are also artists, and it functions as a meeting place for people of all ages and from every artistic discipline. Kim says you could walk into her store and find grandparents sitting with their grandchildren creating art – and using the latest equipment to do so.

The Paint Spot supports local manufacturers by stocking over 30 lines of Canadian-made art supplies and materials alongside imported products from Europe and the US.
