The most recently constructed Calgary museum, Studio Bell was built to tell the story of Canadian music. Its five floors contain exhibitions that celebrate Canadian music icons through interactive activities and 22 different stages. Visit Studio Bell to learn more about Canada’s diverse music scene, with impressive tributes to many artists you’ve heard of and some you haven’t. You'll get to rock out, sing along and feel like you're at a music festival.
Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, hosts a much-anticipated, free opening event on July 1. Expect special Canada Day programming, including educational presentations. exhibits and musical performances throughout its five floors.
The National Music Centre houses a collection of more than 2,000 artifacts that outline the history of music technology and tell the story of music in Canada. The centre is also moving to impressive new digs in the summer of 2016. Studio Bell is a 160,000-square-foot facility in Calgary’s East Village. Five floors of exhibition space will showcase a large array of musical items such as barrel organs, grand pianos, synthesizers, harpsichords, accordions and a theatre organ.
